Gewerkschaft Underdog

Art creates public awareness.

We address the themes of our workers union work in the public sphere.

What we do

In public spaces.

We address the themes of our workers union work through image and video projections on surfaces in public spaces, with sculptures and installations, happenings, audio actions and installations, and much more.

We are particularly keen to collaborate with artists of all kinds who are currently marginalised in our working world and whose creative abilities should not go to waste.

Formats

Our formats

01

Image and video projection

Public spaces become canvases. Employment relationships that remain hidden are brought to light.

02

Sculptures and installations

Three-dimensional interventions in urban space that make realities visible and tangible.

03

Happenings

Collective actions in public spaces, unannounced and unpredictable.

04

Audio campaigns

Sound as a political tool. Voices that are not otherwise heard resonate in the urban space.

05

Audio installations

Long-term interventions that bring passers-by into contact with labour policy issues.

06

Further formats

Art knows no boundaries. New formats emerge from the moment, necessity and collaboration.

Cooperation

Creative skills don’t belong on the sidelines.

We are particularly keen to collaborate with artists of all kinds who are currently marginalised in our working world. Their voices, images and sounds form part of our political work.

The discovery of our works in public spaces will, in many cases, have to be left to chance.

Artistic activities within the context of spontaneous demonstrations, by definition, cannot be planned.
