On the scope of services and alternatives

You are under no legal obligation to be represented in labour law matters. You may appear before the employment tribunal yourself. The employment tribunal has a legal assistance desk that can help you draft your statement of claim. You can also have a solicitor comprehensively represent your interests in labour law matters. We recommend engaging a specialist solicitor in labour law. Please note that you will have to bear the costs of your legal representation at first instance before the employment tribunal yourself, even if you win the case. You may wish to check whether you have insurance that covers these costs. We specialise in specific claims and situations. We are unable to provide comprehensive representation of your interests under employment law. For this, you should engage a solicitor specialising in employment law.

In cases where we take on your representation to enforce your rights as workers, we bear the risk of out-of-court costs and the costs of your representation in court. Only if we achieve a successful outcome for you in the form of a specific monetary payment will we ask you to contribute a portion of this as a voluntary, one-off membership fee, so that we can continue to offer our support in the future.

The mere act of making contact does not constitute an agreement for the Underdog Trade Union (Gewerkschaft Underdog) to represent you in the labour law dispute. Contact is made solely for the purpose of obtaining preliminary guidance on the matter. The Underdog Trade Union (Gewerkschaft Underdog) will only take on the case upon the express acceptance of a corresponding mandate.
